There is a scene in the 2024 film, Nightbitch, an adaption of the 2021 novel by Rachel Yoder, wherein Amy Adams, playing the protagonist, Mother, a former artist detached from her pre-baby identity, is sipping wine with her “Mommy and Me” friends when she says with a strange smile, “I accidentally killed the cat this morning.”
